RLT-P1020 is a high-performance water-soluble rust inhibitor formulated with long-chain polycarboxylic acid and organic amine compounds. This transparent, eco-friendly solution provides excellent rust prevention for ferrous metals during manufacturing, storage, and maintenance.
RLT-P1020 Water-Based Rust Inhibitor
RLT-P1020 is a high-performance water-soluble rust inhibitor independently developed by ROLITOM, compounded with long-carbon-chain polycarboxylic acid and organic amine raw materials. It dissolves completely in water to form transparent anti-rust solution, specially designed for inter-process protection of all ferrous metal workpieces in machinery manufacturing and equipment maintenance industries.
This product works perfectly for cast iron, carbon steel and alloy steel semi-finished parts and finished components. It forms a uniform protective film on metal surfaces to isolate oxygen and moisture, effectively stopping surface oxidation during workshop turnover and temporary storage.
Even diluted to only 3% concentration, it can reach Grade 0 rust resistance on cast iron filings under standard test conditions. Customers can cut down raw material consumption and lower overall production cost compared with ordinary water-based anti-rust liquids.
RLT-P1020 mixes with water in any proportion without precipitation or stratification. It maintains stable anti-rust performance in hard water, no extra water softener required for factory dilution work.
Only a faint invisible film remains after the workpiece air-dries. Residual film can be fully removed with plain water without special degreasing agents, which brings great convenience for subsequent machining, painting or assembly procedures.
No nitrite detected in test, fully compliant with global environmental and export inspection standards. It avoids hidden safety hazards brought by nitrite-containing traditional rust inhibitors for workshop operators.
All test data is measured under standard laboratory environment, following national metalworking fluid test standards, only for customer formulation reference.
| Test Item | Test Method | Quality Index |
| Undiluted appearance | Visual inspection | Clear liquid |
| Appearance of 5%wt dilution | Visual inspection | Colorless and transparent |
| pH Value (5%wt dilution) | pH meter testing | 9.0–10.0 |
| Cast iron rust prevention test (3%wt, 2h, 18–25℃) | JB/T9189-2010 | Grade 0, no rust formation |
| 45# steel corrosion test (55±2℃, 168h full immersion) | GB/T 6144 | Qualified |
| Nitrite content | Precision nitrite test paper | Undetectable |
Mix RLT-P1020 into soluble oil, cutting fluid or grinding fluid to boost the inter-process anti-rust ability of finished coolant, prevent workpieces from rusting during continuous machining.
Dilute the product with clean water directly, use for soaking or spraying on ferrous metal parts to provide temporary rust protection during workshop turnover and storage.
Recommended working dilution ratio: 3% – 5% by weight
Working temperature: Usable at normal ambient temperature; slight heating speeds up workpiece drying
Pre-treatment requirement: Fully remove surface rust, oxide scale and oil stains before anti-rust treatment. Dirty surfaces will drastically weaken anti-rust effect
Post-treatment: Let treated parts air-dry naturally or use forced drying to form complete protective film
Storage reminder: Keep finished workpieces away from rain splash and sewage contamination to avoid protective film failure
Keep the product sealed in cool, dry warehouses, avoid direct sunlight and freezing storage environment
Strictly do not mix with acidic cleaning agents or incompatible chemical products, mixing will damage anti-rust formula and lose performance
Wear protective gloves for long-time continuous contact with diluted solution to prevent mild skin irritation
Q1: What metals can RLT-P1020 protect?
A: It is developed exclusively for ferrous metals including cast iron, carbon steel and alloy steel, not suggested for aluminum, copper and other non-ferrous metal materials.
Q2: Can this product be added into existing cutting fluid formulas?
A: Yes, it acts as a professional anti-rust additive for metalworking fluids, effectively improving the rust prevention performance of finished coolant.
Q3: Is extra cleaning agent needed to remove the anti-rust film?
A: No, the residual thin film can be completely washed off with clean tap water, no special degreaser is required before next processing step.
Q4: Do I need to conduct pre-tests before mass purchase?
A: Yes, actual anti-rust performance will be affected by workpiece surface cleanliness, local water hardness and storage environment. We provide free sample testing service for new manufacturers.
